Grades & Projects

In regards to the last test, the students were allowed to correct their tests. The reason for this was two-fold. 1) It allowed the students a chance to make up some of the points they had missed and 2) it was a chance for the students to reinforce the information covered in chapter 3. If the students corrected their tests and completed it accurately, they received 1/2 point for every point missed. So if their original test score was 50, they had the opportunity to raise it to a 75. The students were allowed to work on this in class for 1 day and then were offered the chance of coming in before or after school for the following 4 days to make any additional corrections they did not complete during class. I was very pleased with the number of students who took the time to come in before or after school to finish their corrections. As you look online for students' grades, the grade that is entered is the corrected score. The original test score is noted in the comments section.

ALSO:
As we embark on Chapter 4, we are continuing to work on our poster projects. The students will have time in class to work on these next week. Tuesday (black day) and Wednesday (gold day) will be work days for our projects. Participation in work day is mandatory. Students will be awarded points for the following: (1) bringing all needed poster supplies to class, (2) diligently working on their poster for the ENTIRE block, (3) not disturbing other students. Please encourage your student to make the most of this time in class.

Thanks
Have a great weekend!
