On the LEFT HAND COLUMN, you will find several very important links:
- Follow By Email: This is what I will be doing in lieu of a parent newsletter. I will post a newsletter for parents approximately once a month on this blog. If you would like to receive an email when a new post is added, then simply type in your email and follow the instructions. You will then receive an email only when the newsletters are posted. You can subscribe or unsubscribe at any time.
- Absence Request: VERY IMPORTANT. As you have read in the Classroom Expectations, anytime a student has been absent (or will be absent), they must submit an online request to receive their assignments. It is a simple fill in the blank form that they must submit, I will then put together a detailed packet for them which they can then pick up. The detailed packet will contain everything they need to stay caught up with the rest of the class. If students choose to include an email (optional) when they submit their request, I will email the packet to them. Turnaround time for email requests is typically same-day.
- Syllabus and Classroom Expectations: A hard copy of both of these has been sent home for you to read, but a digital copy will always be available online.
- Contact Information: Please feel free to contact me any time with questions or comments.
In the RIGHT HAND COLUMN, you will find:
- Chapter Notes. This is the listing of all of my current notes. These are the power point presentations that we go over in class. This is a great resource for studying for tests and quizzes and also for when a student is absent. You can always access my current class notes.
- EOC Resources: The EOCs are a state mandated test that students will be taking in the spring. More information about the EOCs will be posted closer to testing time.
- Search Engines: This is just a listing of various search engines for students to try when looking online for information.
- Calendar: This is possibly one of the most important features of our website. This calendar contains all assignments, projects and deadlines that will be important for the students. Each assignment will always be listed on the date that it is assigned. All assignments are due the next class period unless otherwise specified. Students and parents alike find this feature very helpful in staying on top of classwork.
- GAMES! I have compiled a large list of links to games and activities and they are divided into the different chapters we will be going over this year. I highly encourage students to use these games and activities to study, review and prepare for tests. They are a great way to reinforce what we do in class. Biology is a class in which repetition and reinforcement will be crucial to the success of students and these games give students yet another way for that to happen.
I look forward to a great year! Please feel free to contact me at any time if you have questions or concerns. You may email me at mklenk@cameronschools.org or you may call the school at 632-2129.
Thanks so much,
Mrs. Klenk
